obesity is one of the health threatening problems and the second preventable mortality factor, the prevalence of which is increasing. the economic burden of obesity is estimated at 2-7% of the total healthcare costs and it is predicted to be top health problem of the world in 2025. therefore, following up obesity and developing effective clinical interventions is a significant measure taken in primary and secondary preventions of diseases. however, there are pessimistic views on success rates of obesity treatment and responses of patients to clinical programs are changing. most patients entering weight loss programs regain their baseline weight despite reaching the maximum weight loss level. so, the most frequent consequence of obesity treatment among adults is weight regain and preventing gradual weight regain should be the first goal in this case. although many effective variables are identified in this area, each can slightly justify weight changes. it is still not well-justified why some individuals continue their weight loss maintaining behaviors and some do not. the need for understanding different aspects of obesity has been raised as one of the problems worldwide. the present article aims at studying and analyzing obesity considering significant variables effective in treating present challenges in this area.
